Power restored to Seattle neighborhoods after outage that affected thousands

SEATTLE -- As many as 4,000 customers lost power Thursday afternoon because of a problem at the south Seattle substation, according to Seattle City Light.

Neighborhoods affected by the outage included the International District, Columbia City and Mount Baker.

City Light said there was a problem with a relay at the south substation that caused the outage.

A Q13 News crew reported that some lights near CenturyLink Field were also out as of 2:30 p.m.

As of 3:30 p.m., power was restored to most customers, officials said.
