Report: Trump will visit Washington state on Tuesday

EVERETT, Wash. --Donald Trump will visit Washington Tuesday for a fundraiser and public rally, the Seattle Times reported Thursday.

The Times said state Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, the director of Trump's presidential campaign in the state, confirmed the visit that would include a fundraiser and rally in the area.

“I can’t even begin to speak to all the rumors flying around, but what I can say is that I know for a fact that Mr. Trump will be in Washington state on Tuesday, Aug. 30, for a fundraising event that afternoon and a public rally that evening,” Benton told the Times on Thursday.

The locations of the fundraiser and rally haven't been disclosed, at the Secret Service's request, Benton said, adding that the events will be "very close to" or even in King County.

The Everett Herald reported Thursday that the rally may be held at the Xfinity Arena in Everett.

Gary Weikel, president of the Everett Public Facilities District, which owns the Xfinity Arena in Everett, told the Herald that the Trump campaign is interested in renting the arena but hasn't returned a signed contract or a deposit.

The Herald quoted Weikel as saying, "It's a very large maybe, at this point."

The newspaper also quoted state Republican Party Chairwoman Susan Hutchison as saying, "I had asked for him (Trump) o come to Everett. We believe there are an awful lot of people in the community getting behind Trump."

Trump is expected to have a fundraiser in Bellevue on Tuesday.
