Baldwin says goodbye to 'Angry Doug,' hello to 'Prefrontal Cortex Development Doug'

SEATTLE – So long, Angry Doug. We’ll remember you fondly.

Doug Baldwin’s got a new fiancée, a new contract - and a whole new way of looking at life.

“I don’t know about “Angry Doug,” Baldwin said during an exclusive interview with Q13 FOX. “There was never “Angry Doug” - that was all you guys.

“I think this is “Prefrontal Cortex Development Doug,” if you will, so there’s a process to it.

The Seahawks are ramping up for training camp, which begins July 30. The team’s first preseason game is in Kansas City on Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the home of the Seahawks, Q13 FOX.

Baldwin says he’s learned through pre-marriage counseling that his personality profile is rich in loyalty, honesty and trustworthiness – all things he says apply to his relationship with the Seattle area as well.

“I think that that’s one of the reasons why I’ve developed such a warm heart for Seattle and this area is that I’m loyal to it,” he said.

“Being able to live here and build a house here, it’s not just about right now – it’s about 30 years down the line when my kids are going to school and they get to look back and say 'my Dad played for the Seattle Seahawks.'”

Baldwin said he’s found peace of mind in his personal life that’s going to carry over to the football field.

“It’s easy now to go out there and just enjoy football like I did when I was 8, 9 years old playing little league football in Pensacola,” he said. “I’m that kid again, I’m free again.”
