Pregnant horse going to adopted home found stabbed to death

AMERICAN FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ An eastern Idaho is searching for the person who stabbed one of her horses to death.

KIDK-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2bx1BIo ) that Kimberly Clark found her 5- or 6-year-old mustang Dee stabbed to death at her ranch in American Falls on Sunday. Dee was a free-roaming horse and was pregnant. She was expected to foal next month.

Clark runs ``A Little Piece of Heaven'' ranch, a temporary home for rescued horses. The ranch works with ``Miracle Mustangs'' to save dying horses that would have otherwise been sent to slaughter and to find adoptive homes.

Dee had been adopted and was only hours away from going to her new home when she died.

The ranch reported the incident to the Power County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating.
