Primary races, initiatives certified for November ballot (FULL LIST)

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Secretary of State has certified primary races and initiatives for the November 2016 ballot.

Washington uses a top 2 primary, meaning the two people who get the most votes for any given race will move on to the general election, regardless of party affiliation.

The governor's race is one of the biggest this year: Incumbent Jay Inslee (D) will face Bill Bryant (R).

Also on the ballot is the senate race where Patty Murray (D) will be going for her sixth term in office. Her challenger is Chris Vance (R).

Another one of the most interesting races is the seat left open by Representative Jim McDermott in the 7th Congressional District. Two democrats, Pramila Jayapal and Brady Pinero Walkinshaw, will face off in November.

As for measures on the ballot, I-1433 is getting a lot of attention. This would raise the state's minimum wage to $13.50 an hour by the year 2020. It would also require employers to provide paid sick leave.
