5 shot in downtown Tacoma, police investigating

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Police are investigating after five people were shot in downtown Tacoma.

The News Tribune reports that a shooting was reported just before 2 a.m. near South 9th Street and Pacific Avenue.

Officers found two victims there and had them taken to a hospital. Three other victims showed up at St. Joseph Medical Center around the same time.

Police told Q13 News that the two victims found at the scene were a 21-year-old female and 16-year-old male. The age of the other victims, and their identities, was not released.

It wasn't immediately clear if all of the victims were wounded in the same incident. The conditions of the victims were not known.
