Local mom organizes event to bring awareness to the flu after daughter's death



TACOMA, Wash. – A local mom is bringing awareness to a disease that killed her young daughter.

When Scarlett Anne Taylor was 5 she caught the flu. Scarlett died two days later at Mary Bridge Hospital in Tacoma.

Her mother, Rebecca Taylor started the Fight the Flu foundation to educate and bring awareness to the dangers of the disease.

The first annual “Walk to Fight the Flu” will take place at Jefferson Park. There will be over 50 vendors with food and games. The walk will be from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.. The event at the park will lat from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.. There will also be nurses on hand to answer questions
