'Sheriff's Office of Neighborhoods:' Deputies working to break cycle of homelessness in Snohomish County

EVERETT -- Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and congressman Rick Larsen are reaching out to the homeless across the county Wednesday morning.

Rep. Larsen is expected to ride along with deputies as they search for those living on the streets.

The special unit from the Snohomish County Office of Neighborhoods focuses on homeless outreach. The program works to identify, locate, and connect with homeless and vulnerable populations. The goal is to establish relationships and help break the cycle of homelessness and addiction.

A social worker partnered with law enforcement often helps connect people in need with social services.

Deputies are scheduled to take Rep. Larsen to spots throughout Everett and Snohomish County frequented by the homeless.
