78-year-old motorcyclist dies in crash outside Port Orchard

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. — A 78-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed when he crashed Tuesday just outside the Port Orchard city limits, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was identified as Ernest Gilbert Mejia, of South Kitsap.

The sheriff’s office said the crash took place in the 1600 block of SW Old Clifton Road at about 3:07 p.m. There were no other vehicles or persons involved, the sheriff’s office said, which provided no other details.

He was driving a 2007 Kawasaki VN900.
