Police looking for man suspected in two killings at Kent homeless camp

KENT, Wash. — Police in Kent are looking for a suspect possibly involved in the killing of a man and woman at a transient camp.

The Seattle Times reports that police on Saturday found the body of a man with an apparent gunshot wound at an encampment in a remote area of 88th Avenue Southeast.

Investigators said they were not previously aware of the camp's existence.

Police believe Saturday's killing is related to the shooting death of a woman on Friday in the same area.

The man suspected in both deaths is described as an unshaven white male with short reddish hair, and was last seen wearing a white tank-top.

Police say he might be riding a dark-colored bicycle with a basket over the rear wheel.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public.

Anyone with information about either of these cases is being asked to contact the Kent Police Department.

Neither victim will be publicly identified until their next of kin can be notified.
