3 teens charged with raping girl at Eastern Washington house party

PROSSER, Wash. (AP) — Benton County prosecutors have charged three teen boys with raping an intoxicated girl during a house party in Prosser last month.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports that the girl, who only remembers drinking at the party, learned later from one boy that he and two others had sex with her.

Prosecutors said the girl was "incapable of consent by reason of being mentally incapacitated."

Two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old were charged in juvenile court with second-degree rape. Court documents show they claim the sex was consensual.

The girl told police she drank some alcohol and that one boy gave her a pill he said was anti-anxiety medication. She told police she would not have agreed to have sex with the boys.

Two of the boys were in court this week. Prosecutors and defense lawyers stipulated to the judge that it was best to keep the case in juvenile court.
