**Embargo: St. Louis, MO** A St. Charles County ambulance was stuck on a bridge overnight

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – Crews worked overnight to free an ambulance that became stuck on a bridge Thursday afternoon, KMOV reported.

The St. Charles County ambulance became stuck while responding to a bridge on the Busch Greenway near Duckett Creek to assist with a woman who was having problems in the heat while on the trail around 3 p.m.

“These particular bridges weren’t meant for vehicle use, but we use them in emergencies,” said Asst. Chief Dave Lewis. “Unfortunately, this time it didn’t work.”

Nobody inside the ambulance was injured.

The ambulance was freed around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
