Three fires spark within 40 minutes overnight in Renton

RENTON, Wash. -- Investigators are looking into three early morning fires in Renton that all sparked within 40 minutes.

According to Renton Lead Fire Inspector Phil Crane, a dumpster fire was reported just before 3:00 a.m. in the Fairwood area.

The next fire was called in at 3:23 a.m. at a transient camp near Benson Hill. Someone at the camp flagged down a police officer to notify them of the fire. Investigators ruled the fire accidental. It burned about 100 square feet.

The third fire happened at 3:37 a.m. at a Jehovah's Witness Church in the 16000 block of 116th Ave SE. A fire started in a utility trailer near the building. It did some damage to the building itself. This fire was ruled intentional but it is still under investigation.

Nobody was hurt in any of the fires.
