12th MAN legacy continues in Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash.-- Seahawks fans can once again call themselves the 12th MAN. The Hawks tweeted the exciting news Thursday morning.

Texas A&M owns the trademark to the term 12th MAN. The Seahawks announced a contract extension with the university that will allow them to continue to share the term.

According to SB Nation, in 2006 the Seahawks paid an initial sum payment of $100,000 to share the term. Texas A&M University then received $5,000 per year from the Seahawks. The initial term of the agreement was five years, and according to SB Nation, the Seahawks opted to renew the agreement for five more years in 2011.

We are happy to hear the legacy of the 12th MAN in Seattle continues! Go Hawks!
