Redmond doctor arrested for allegedly touching patient inappropriately
REDMOND, Wash. -- A doctor in Redmond is accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients.
The alleged victim says Dr. Bruce Klein, with Medical Spa Northwest, touched her inappropriately during a visit.
Klein performs massage therapy and chiropractic services for his clients. It’s routine for both procedures to be done after removing some clothing, but now two of his patients say it went too far.
“It’s really hard to trust, yes,” said Lora Ken, who works in Redmond.
Lora Ken and Kate Hoss work in Redmond off 152nd Avenue NE near Medical Spa NW. They aren’t patients of Klein, but tell us they’re concerned after hearing what he’s accused of … touching two patients sexually. Police say the latest case happened n June.
“That’s why when it comes to chiropractors, I like the doctor to be a woman and not a man,” said Ken.
“If I don’t know the doctor I try to have someone with me, especially in this kind of situation,” said Kate Hoss, who also lives in Redmond.
Q13 News went to the last known address of Klein so he could explain what happened, but no one answered.
A second woman reported sexual abuse in 2010, but she didn’t press charges. Redmond Police worry there may be more victims.
“Any victim is often driven by fear or embarrassment. We often tell people if you feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, you probably already should have called 911” said Redmond Police Commander Tim Gately.
Klein faces a felony charge of indecent liberties.
“It was a doctor entrusted to care for a patient, and this type of contact involved with the patient was not only inappropriate, but illegal,” said Gately.
For other women, this serves as a warning.
“You’re always looking at them like what if he’s going to do something to me?” asked Hoss.
