TUKWILA, Wash. -- A 34-year-old Tukwila man was shot near the intersection of Military Road and 140th Wednesday night, police said.

The victim sustained "a serious gunshot wound" and was rushed to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, a Tukwila police spokesman said.

He added that police were called to the scene at about 9:44 p.m. when residents reported hearing multiple gunshots. Police found the gunshot victim lying on the ground at the scene.

"We do not believe this was a random act, but we do not have any suspects in custody at this time," the spokesman said.

Officers were canvassing the neighborhood, he said, and the investigation was continuing.
