SMYRNA, WA -  The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 3 evacuations order Saturday morning for the Smyrna Community due to wildfire. The fire started last night near the town of Beverly and has burned more the 1,000 acres in southwest Grant County.  Lower Crab Creek Road is closed between Smyrna to Beverly, just south of Royal City.

Saturday, the fire grew to over 10,000 acres burning in dry sage and grass. A Red Cross shelter has been set up at the Royal City High School in Royal City.

The fire has spread onto the Saddle Mountains.  Burkett Recreation Area and the DNR campground have been evacuated, according to officials.

Fire officials are asking the public to not fly any drones near the fire scene to prevent drone strikes on firefighter aircraft.
