What is that? Strange light spotted above Gateway Arch in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – No one can seem to explain exactly what they saw above St. Louis’ Gateway Arch earlier this week.

The flashing light above the arch has everyone baffled, including Chase Rhoads, who shot video of the flashing light early Tuesday morning and shared it with KTVI.

Rhoads was leaving Casino Queen around 2:30 a.m. when he noticed the light and shot the video. He has no idea what it was. Making things even more mysterious, the National Park Service said it didn’t have any reports of strange flights and no one reported anything out of the ordinary.

KTVI put in a call to Scott Air Force Base, where officials said there was nothing to report and they hadn’t received any phone calls.

Rhoads said the light has him perplexed.

A surveillance camera from Malcolm W. Martin Memorial park recorded a second video of the light.

“We guarantee you will be perplexed if you watch all 5 minutes of this surveillance footage!” reads the post on the park’s Facebook page.
