‘National Night Out:’ An opportunity for police, communities to heal

Cities across the county will participate in “National Night Out” Tuesday – an opportunity for neighbors to interact with the police officers who patrol their streets every day.

The event will take on a new meaning this year amid heightened tensions between some police departments nationwide and the communities they serve.

Seattle Police Sgt. Adrian Diaz and Tacoma Police Officer Loretta Cool joined “Q13 News This Morning” to discuss the importance of Tuesday night’s event – for both the public and officers.
