Arson suspected in fire that burned abandoned Kent home to the ground

KENT, Wash. — Firefighters are investigating a suspected arson Tuesday afternoon that burned a house to the ground in Kent.

Crews were called around noon to the abandoned home in the 23500 block of 98th Ave. S. in Kent.

Officials used a defensive strategy to fight this fire once they learned the home was abandoned. No other homes burned.

Photos and video from the scene showed the roof had collapsed and the walls barely standing.

Investigators suspect arson but told Q13 News they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
