LOVELAND, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 4-month-old Ohio girl has been found dead in a river and her father, who reported her missing, has been arrested on murder charges.

The discovery Monday afternoon of remains believed to be those of Kaylynn Crawford came less than 24 hours after her father told police someone snatched her from his parked car in a northern Cincinnati suburb and fled.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office said Charles Crawford has been arrested on a charge of murder. He’s being held at the Clermont County Jail.

Investigators say Charles Crawford reported Sunday night that Kaylynn was taken from the vehicle in the parking lot of a store in Loveland.

Authorities found the remains and the girl’s car seat near the Little Miami River, a few miles from the store.
