Police rescue 2-year-old from hot car in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. (AP) — Pasco Police say an officer broke the window of a van to pull a 2-year-old to safety in 100-degree heat.

The Tri-City Herald reports the child's mom had accidentally locked the doors of her van with the keys inside.

Police said on Facebook that the toddler was only in the vehicle for a few minutes but already was in distress.

Police say the toddler was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was doing fine.
