Meet the Delegates: Diehard Sanders supporter from Burien says she's ready for fight

SEATTLE -- With the Democratic National Convention underway, we want to introduce you to some of the delegates representing this state.

Matt Lorch has the story of a diehard Bernie Sanders supporter who says she's ready for a good fight in Philadelphia.

"I'm not going for a quiet convention, I'm hoping it's going to be messy," said Dinea Evans, a Democratic delegate from the 7th Congressional District.

Evans has been feeling 'the Bern' every since she got to meet her candidate in March in Seattle. The 33-year-old from Burien showed up five hours early, to work the phone banks.

"I looked at Bernie and I said, 'Bernie, it's a revolution.' And he looked at me and he came over, he put his hand on my shoulder and we that beautiful selfie," she said.

This mother of two young kids says he has never felt this political passion until a few months ago.

"I never imagined I would have a purpose, a sense of purpose in my life," Evans said. "I could make a difference for my children, that my voice matters.

"I am beyond honored to represent the state of Washington at the convention," she said.
