JBLM soldier dies while running with his unit in the woods on base

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – A JBLM solider died while running with his unit in the woods on Friday.

According to a release from the base, the soldier received emergency treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.

An investigation is underway. The solider hasn’t been identified, pending next of kin.

“All members of the JBLM community extend our condolences and support to family and friends of the soldier who died during unit physical training,” JBLM officials said in a statement.
