Wilson, Sherman crack top 20 on NFL Network's list of top 100 players

SEATTLE – Two Seahawks cracked the NFL Network’s list of the top 100 players in the league Wednesday.

Richard Sherman was voted the 20th best player in the NFL and Russell Wilson came in at No. 17 on the list, which has been unrolled over the course of the past few weeks.

Sherman was described as “The CB your QB would prefer not to throw toward,” while Wilson was simply named “The Magician.

Wilson had the best season of his career, throwing for 4,024 yards and 34 touchdowns against 8 interceptions, and had a passer rating of 110.1. He also had 103 rushes for 553 yards and a touchdown.

Sherman had career lows with two interceptions and 33 tackles, but anchored a secondary that was the cornerstone of the NFL’s No. 1 defense.

Named earlier to the list were safety Kam Chancellor (32), defensive end Michael Bennett (59), safety Earl Thomas (66) and receiver Doug Baldwin (72).

The list is voted on by the players, and the network said this year’s incarnation received the most votes in the series’ six-season history.
