Brush fire causes power outage in Tacoma area

TACOMA -- About 10,100 customers lost power Monday morning in the Lakewood-Tacoma area because of a brush fire.

Tacoma Public Utilities said around 10:45 a.m. that most of the outage was near SR 512.

Crews said power was restored to all customers before noon.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said the power outage had affected traffic signals in Parkland and Lakewood.

Officials reminded drivers to treat dark intersections like a 4-way stop.
