Female pedestrian injured, dog missing after accident in South Seattle

SEATTLE - Seattle police are investigating a vehicle verses pedestrian accident Sunday afternoon that left an elderly woman injured.

The accident happened in the 3600 block of South McClellan Street around 1:00 p.m.. Police say the woman in her 70s was walking with her dog at the time of the crash.

She was transported with serious injures and the dog is now missing.

The dog is described as a black lab mix, weighing approximately 40 pounds, with a leash. Police believe the dog may have also sustained injuries.

The driver in the incident, also a woman in her 70s, remained on the scene and was questioned by officers.  Police did not find that she was impaired and are still investigating the cause of the crash.
