AED in Foss High School honors 14-year-old basketball player who died in 2005 (VIDEO)

TACOMA -- A local school got an important device Monday to keep kids and staff safe.

The AED was installed at Foss High School in Tacoma.

Studies show if an AED, or Automated External Defibrillator, is used, people in cardiac arrest have a 70 to 80 percent chance of survival.

The particular AED honors Kiki McBride, a 14-year-old basketball player who collapsed and died in 2005 of cardiac arrest during practice.
