VIDEO: How to protect your kids from cyberbullying on social media

SEATTLE -- Children are breaking for summer soon, but cyberbullying never takes a break.

A doctor from PacMed tells Q13 News that cyberbullying is a major problem that impacts kids emotionally and physically.

Dr. Alexander Hamling, a PacMed pediatrician, says this behavior typically peaks for kids between the ages of 11 and 14, but can continue through high school. But you can take steps to prevent it from happening.

It's important to know what your kids are doing online. Set up rules for technology use and make sure you're talking to your kids about bullying.

If there are threats of violence or sexually explicit messages, report that to police.
