ZILLAH, Wash. (AP) _ The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after finding a 36-year-old woman who apparently had been lying in some brush for days with a possible bullet wound to her head.

The woman, who is from Pasco, was not lucid due to her injury and her exposure to the elements. But she told the deputy who found her Monday evening that she had walked to the site, near a fishing pond in Zillah, a few days ago.

Medics brought her to a hospital, where staff said they found what might have been a bullet in her head. She was listed in critical condition Tuesday.
