$1 million bail set for Redmond woman accused of killing her fiance's baby son

REDMOND, Wash. — Bail was set at $1 million Tuesday for a 35-year-old Redmond woman accused of killing her fiance's 16-month-old son.

She is being held in the King County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder.  Q13 News is not identifying her, because she has not been formally charged yet.

According to the probable cause court documents, the father of the 15-month-old boy said his fiancee took his son into the bedroom of her parents' home in Redmond on Saturday. She later came out of the room with smears of what appeared to be fecal matter on her clothing. The father asked what happened and, he told police, she replied that she did what she had to do.

The father went into the bedroom and said found his baby son dead, with what appeared to be fecal matter and vomit from the baby spread throughout the room. He called 911 and reported that his fiancee had "choked" his son to death, the documents said.

Detectives arrived and when they interviewed the woman, she told them that she did what she had to do. She then asked for a lawyer, the documents said.
