KINGSTON, Wash. — Bail has been set at $1 million for a 48-year-old Kingston man on charges of kidnapping and child rape after he was found with a 15-year-old girl reported missing from Florida and who he allegedly met on a social media site, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

The suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon in Kennewick and booked into the Kitsap County Jail. He will make his first court appearance on Monday.

He has not been identified because he has not been formally charged yet.

Washington state officials are coordinating with Florida authorities to return the teenage girl to her home.
