Equipment stolen from school community garden

KAPOWSIN, Wash.—A Pierce County elementary school hopes the person who stole equipment from their community garden will return it.

Staff at Kapowsin Elementary said someone stole an expensive wheelbarrow and other tools from behind the garden’s locked chain link fence. The school’s giving garden and fruit forest is funded by grants and helps those in need in their community.

The wheelbarrow was purchased specifically for its safety—it can’t tip over on the little gardeners. Staff hopes a split in the frame on the underside of the wheelbarrow will help someone identify it.

They believe the tools were taken between Monday at 3 p.m. and Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Call police if you know where the equipment is.
