Two young boys seriously injured after falling out 3rd-floor window

SILVERDALE, Wash. -- Two young boys -- a 1-year-old and 3-year-old -- fell out of a third-floor apartment bedroom window Tuesday, Kitsap County sheriff's deputy Scott Wilson said.

Both boys landed on landscape beauty bark below, Wilson said, and both were conscious and breathing. They were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale, and then airlifted to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center, Wilson said.

Harborview said late Tuesday afternoon that both boys are in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

Wilson said the incident took place at the Trillium Heights apartment complex at 12240 Daphne Lane NW in Silverdale.

The deputy said the mother was home at the time, but was in the living room when the boys fell out the bedroom window. The father was at work.

An investigation is under way, he said.
