Southbound I-5 near Marysville to be closed early Tuesday

I-5/116th NE Interchange Improvement Project

MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Department of Transportation says southbound I-5 near Marysville will be closed early Tuesday for overpass work.

Lane closures will begin around 7 p.m. Monday so highway workers can move a large crane across the interstate.

All southbound lanes will be closed for two hours from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Two northbound lanes closed for the project will reopen by 9 a.m.

Highway officials have set up a southbound I-5 detour using the 116th Street Northeast ramps.

The Tulalip Tribes are improving the 116th Street Northeast interchange to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in the area.
