Matthew Garcia: Wanted Spokane County felon accused of destructive business break-in crime spree to steal from safes

WANTED IN SPOKANE COUNTY --
Breaking into a bunch of different businesses -- mostly insurance agencies and real estate offices -- is what Spokane Count felon, Matthew Garcia, is wanted for.

Detectives say he owed a big drug debt and thought those types of places would have safes with  cash and jewelry inside. They were on a list of about 50 different businesses he planned to hit, but he got caught just eight heists in.

Detectives say Garcia broke in by hurling rocks through windows. Inside he damaged the safes and ransacked the buildings -- doing several thousand dollars’ worth of damage.

Get this -- detectives say his total net from the eight break-ins: Some loose change and a coffee maker.

He was cooperating with detectives for a while, but now they can't find him anywhere.

He’s 44 years old, 6’0” and weighs 235 pounds.

He has felony convictions for burglary, theft and drugs.

Detectives say he's from Yakima and could be hiding there now.
