Former Sonic Gary Payton: Seattle ‘deserves’ NBA team

SEATTLE — Former SuperSonics point guard Gary Payton says Seattle deserves an NBA team and that he’d love to be a part-owner.

Payton told TMZ Sports that NBA commissioner Adam Silver is the one who has the ability to bring basketball back to Seattle.

When asked if he’d be interested in being an owner, Payton said, “Yes I do. I do always. I always want to get in on that and get back to  Seattle. Seattle deserves that. That’s where I started my career, that’s where I became a hall of famer at.”
