Puyallup police searching for robber who threatened bank employees



PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint Monday morning in Puyallup.

Puyallup police were called around 9:25 a.m. to the U.S. Bank on 39th Ave SW.

Investigators said the suspect was wearing a yellow hat and was carrying a semi-automatic handgun. He ordered everyone inside the branch to the ground, demanded cash, and fled southbound on foot.

Police said the suspect threatened to harm bank employees before escaping.

Officers and a K9 unit searched for the suspect but did not find him.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 50s, between 5' 8" and 5 10", with a slender to medium build, and a short gray beard. At the time, he was wearing blue jeans, an olive or black colored jacket and a tan hat. The suspect brandished a silver and black colored semi-automatic handgun.
