Raccoon knocks out power to 40,000 overnight in Seattle



SEATTLE -- Seattle City Light says electricity has been restored to more than 38,000 customers who had lost power after a raccoon entered a substation and caused a disruption in service.





The city's electric utility posted on its Twitter page that power was restored early Wednesday.

At the height of the outage, the utility says 38,778 customers were without electricity. It said crews had been investigating outages in Magnolia, Fremont, Queen Anne and Ballard.
