Two people injured in Columbia City shooting

SEATTLE -- Two people are recovering, after being shot Saturday in the Columbia City area of Seattle. Police say the shooting happened around 3 pm, near the corner of Rainier Avenue and Genesee Street.

Carol Dillon says her son and a friend were heading to work at the Shell Gas station, when a group of men in a dark car started yelling at them. Soon after, they started shooting. Dillon says one bullet hit her son in the hand, another grazed his head. Witnesses say another young woman also got hit in the arm.

"They have to get caught, because they're on a shooting rampage," says Dillon. "If you can shoot at somebody you don't know, everybody's safety is in danger. He didn't do nothing, the girl across the street didn't do nothing."

Both victims are being treated at Harborview and expected to survive.

Right now, Seattle police don’t have a good description of the suspects or their vehicle. They’re asking anyone with information to call the violent crime tip line at 206-233-5000.
