Ted Cruz cancels public rallies in Washington as he suspends campaign

SEATTLE – Ted Cruz canceled planned rallies in Washington state this week, after announcing Tuesday night that he was dropping out of the GOP presidential race.

The Republican presidential hopeful was to make an appearance in Spokane on Wednesday, followed by public rallies Thursday morning in Bothell and Thursday evening in Vancouver, according to Cruz campaign state chairman Saul Gamoran.

Donald Trump has said he is coming to Washington on Saturday, but details haven’t been announced yet.
