(CNN) — A Colorado woman convicted of cutting an unborn baby from its mother’s womb was sentenced Friday to 100 years in prison.

Former nurse’s aide Dynel Lane, 35, attacked a woman who was seven months pregnant and had responded to Lane’s online ad for baby clothes.

The woman survived but her unborn baby did not.

Lane had pleaded not guilty for the March 18, 2015 attack that left Michelle Wilkins‘ unborn daughter Aurora dead.

Defense attorneys had argued the attack was made impulsively and that it wasn’t planned, and that she should be held accountable for reckless manslaughter and not attempted murder.
