Michael Leatherwood: Days before May Day, Seattle Police searching for suspect accused of assaulting officer at prior protest

LEATHERWOODWANTED IN SEATTLE --
Seattle Police are gearing up for May Day protests on Sunday.

And every year, a group of anarchists breaks windows, gets in fights and causes property damage in the city.

Now, Seattle Police detectives are asking for help finding one suspect accused of assaulting an officer at the protests two years ago.

Michael Leatherwood is also charged with obstructing a police officer.

A bench warrant for his arrest was issued in January.

"The problem with anarchists is they come in from other cities and the join local protesters and then mayhem starts,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “We want to prevent that and we want to prevent you from being hurt and in specific, your business."

Michael Leatherwood is also wanted in Kennewick after failing to appear on a theft charge.

He was convicted in Louisiana in April last year for criminal trespass.

He's 5'11" and 190 pounds with green eyes and blonde hair.
