Year-round flights to Mexico coming soon to Sea-Tac

SEATTLE (AP) — Year-round flights to Mexico from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will start in July.

Port of Seattle officials said in a Thursday news release that Volaris Airlines will fly between Guadalajara and Sea-Tac nonstop three times a week.

The flights will begin on July 7. The airline also offers connections through Guadalajara to other cities in Mexico.

Volaris began operations in 2006 and currently flies 45 routes to 21 destinations in the U.S.

Sea-Tac has been the fastest growing large hub airport in the country for the past two years. Passenger traffic set a record in 2015 for the fifth straight year with more than 42.3 million travelers.
