Thieves arrested after allegedly breaking into a hotel room and stealing birthday gifts

FEDERAL WAY, Wash - Federal Way police have arrested two suspects for allegedly breaking into a hotel room and stealing a boy's birthday presents.

Jessica Lewis says her family gathered at the Red Lion Inn & Suites in Federal Way yesterday, to celebrate her cousin Julian's 13th birthday. Julian received some electronics and several pieces of luggage from family members. He put the gifts in their hotel room, then joined his family in the lobby for some snacks. When they returned to the room an hour later, all the gifts were gone.

"You got some electronics, but you ruined a kid's birthday," says Lewis.

Police checked the hotel's surveillance system and saw two men enter the hotel through a side door. The suspects walked down the hall, checking doors and trying to get into rooms. They entered one room, then walked out a few minutes later with several bags and suitcases.

Lewis' family shared photos of the two suspects on social media, to see if anyone could help identify the men. Sunday afternoon, Federal Way police called them and told them two suspects had been taken into custody.  They also recovered a few of the stolen items.
