Marshawn Lynch picks up shovel, helps Cliff Avril build school in Haiti

Marshawn Lynch, Cliff Avril and some other NFL players went to Port-au-Prince, Haiti last week to help build an elementary school, host a mobile medical clinic and a football camp.

The trip was coordinated through the nonprofit Free The Children.

Avril's parents came to America from Haiti in the 1980s. He was also joined by Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus.

"It’s awesome to have their support, it’s awesome to be in a situation where guys are willing to take that step with you," Avril told Seahawks.com. "Marshawn wants to help actually build the school out there. There’s a lot of good guys in the NFL ... It’s cool to have these guys’ support."

Lynch has been all over the world since indicating his retirement -- riding camels and performing stunts in Egypt.
