Spokesman Aaron Snell said the accident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. when a car traveling northbound on Evergreen Way hit the man, stopped briefly and then kept going.

A witness said he saw the car drive through the intersection and then saw a duffel bag fly through the air before he saw a man lying in the street, covered in blood.

The police said later that the suspected driver was located and was being interviewed.
