Two suspected of driving drunk in deadly 5-car crash in Lakewood

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Two drivers are facing vehicular homicide charges after a Tacoma man was killed in a five-car crash on Interstate 5 in Lakewood.

The News Tribune reports that Dominic Bryant died in the crash on Saturday. The Washington State Patrol says he had been a passenger in the car that started the wreck.

Authorities say the driver of the first vehicle had struck an abandoned car on the shoulder of the I-5 and went back onto the roadway. Two vehicles hit the car while it was in the middle of the road and a fifth vehicle swerved to avoid debris in the roadway and hit a barrier.

Troopers say two of the drivers involved were drunk.

They are being held in the Pierce County Jail.
