KENT, Wash. -- A man accused of shooting and killing his longtime friend in Renton pleaded not guilty to a murder charge Thursday.

Brandon Green, 32, faces a charge of second-degree murder for allegedly breaking into a unit of the Plum Tree Apartments last week and repeatedly shooting his friend Michael Flowers.

Police say a woman in the apartment shot Green as he was leaving.

Officers arrested the wounded suspect in the parking lot.
