Police arrest two men accused of drug dealing on Everett streets

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police have arrested two men accused of drug dealing in the Smith Avenue area.

Everett police said officers served a search warrant at an apartment in south Everett on March 25 where they seized more than a pound of heroin and a half-pound of meth, as well as cocaine, OxyContin, Suboxone, and nearly $51,000 in cash.

Officers arrested Jesus Lopez Olivia after they say their investigation revealed he'd been using homeless people to sell drugs on the street.

Earlier this month, officers arranged a drug deal with another man after receiving a tip. They arrested Miguel Angel Rodriguez after he arrived in the 2600 block of Cedar Street with his young stepson. Police said he had heroin and cash with him.

“Last week’s arrests are another example of the great work being done by our officers in that area,” said Chief Dan Templeman. “They also underscore the growing challenge of drugs in our outreach and enforcement efforts. We are committed to offering support to those who are ready for a different life, while still holding accountable people engaged in criminal behavior on our streets.”

Everett police said they are focusing arresting those who are dealing meth and heroin in the Smith Avenue area. Officers have also arrested five others on drug charges, and referred another to available services.
